Borderless Film Festival 2027
February 19-20, 2027 Sendai Mediatheque (Sendai City) There are many different "walls" in the world. Some are visible, some are invisible, and some are not even known to exist. The "Borderless Film Festival" aims to make these things visible, to think together about what they are, and to consider ways to overcome or deal with them. The first edition took place in November 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing primarily on Japan and Indonesia, with 13 documentary films screened and five talk programmes held online. The second edition took place in March 2022, with the ‘Sendai Mediatheque’ in Sendai serving as the main venue (which has remained the main venue ever since). It featured screenings of 13 documentary films and three talk programmes, held partly online. The third edition took place in March 2023 in Sendai and Kesennuma.We held our first-ever competition, receiving 70 entries from 14 countries around the world; five films selected from these were screened. Most of these were Japanese premieres. The fourth edition was held over two days in February–March 2026 at the Sendai Mediatheque. We received 110 entries from over 30 countries worldwide; eight of these were screened, alongside 12 films produced in Sendai. Directors and industry professionals from France, Hong Kong, the United States and Sapporo, amongst others, attended, and with over 300 visitors, it was the festival’s largest event to date. The fifth edition is scheduled to take place in February 2027 at the Sendai Mediatheque.  ボーダレス映画祭2027
2027年2月19日（金）・20日（土） せんだいメディアテーク（仙台市） 世界にはさまざまな「壁」があります。目に見えるものもあれば、目に見えないもの、あることすらわからないものもあります。そうしたものを見えるようにし、それがいかなるものなのかをともに考え、それを乗り越えたり、それとつきあっていくすべを考えていこうというのが「ボーダレス映画祭」です。 第一回は2020年11月、コロナ禍の中、日本とインドネシアを中心にに行われ、ドキュメンタリー映画13本の上映と５つのトーク・プログラムをオンラインで開催しました。 第二回は2022年3月、仙台の「せんだいメディアテーク」をメイン会場に開催（以後、ここがメイン会場に）。ドキュメンタリー映画13本の上映と、3つのトーク・プログラムをオンラインと併用で行いました。 第三回は2023年3月、仙台と気仙沼で開催されました。初めてのコンペを行い、世界14カ国から70作品が出品され、この中から選ばれた５作品が上映されました。そのほとんどが日本プレミアでした。 第四回は2026年2〜3月の２日間にわたり、せんだいメディアテークで開催。世界30数カ国から110作品の応募があり、そこから８作品を上映するとともに、仙台で制作された12作品が上映されました。フランスや香港、アメリカ、札幌などから監督や関係者が参加し、来場者も300人以上にのぼり、過去最大規模の開催となりました。 第五回は2027年2月、せんだいメディアテークを会場に開催の予定です。 |
